Swedish flag burned at protest in Istanbul in front of Consulate General of the Kingdom
The Istanbul residents held a large-scale protest under the windows of the Swedish Consulate General, the local media report.
The Turks reacted in such a way to the Quran burning action coordinated by the Swedish authorities the day before in Stockholm.
“After the burning of the Swedish national flag, participants in the rally prayed while reading the Koran,” RIA Novosti cited an excerpt from an article on the T24 website.
The day before, Danish lawyer and far-right politician Rasmus Paludan burned a copy of the Muslim holy book in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.
